Thumbnail Title Description

Celebrity Surfers

The best part of Bells Beach Pro is following the professional surfer match ups as they compete in many heats building up to the final. The venue hosts other events to fill downtime. Because the big waves also took the long weekend off there was a lot of downtime. We watched a mini competition between Australian celebrities, including rugby players, golfers, TV personalities and actors., 2/17/2006

The most coveted prize in surfing

This is the trophy for the winner of the Rip Curl Pro this year it went to Kelly Slater. I was just keeping an eye on the trophy until it was official, 2/17/2006

Australia National Triathlon Championship

The Rip Curl Pro competition took a rain check due to missing waves, however, serious competition was on in Geelong. The Olympic distance race passes through the Geelong Waterfront area, which is a beautiful part of town, 2/17/2006

Crash Test Dummy

While the surfing competition was delayed, we found other things to do in Geelong. The Ford museum has interesting displays including this crash test dummy kangaroo. I suspect this is the only car factory in the world that employs kangaroo crash test dummies. , 2/17/2006
